Safety and trust

Built for safer serious dating

CanDate does not try to win on volume alone. Verification, in-app messaging, a video call before meeting, one-step reporting and a date safety plan with a check-in reminder come first, so you meet offline with fewer blind spots.

Verification first | In-app communication | Clear AI labeling | Better first-date planning
Verification Liveness checks and a linked WeChat raise baseline trust.
Private by default Members can keep early coordination inside CanDate instead of handing out contact info immediately.
Date safety plan Members can save venue, check-in, transportation, and trusted contact details before meeting.

Our safety rules

Trust signals

Verification changes ranking and access

Profiles that complete more trust steps are easier to review confidently, and liveness-verified profiles appear in verified-only searches.

In-app communication

Message and video before meeting

The safest first meetup usually comes after a real conversation and a quick in-app video check.

AI labeling

AI is always labelled

AI can help with openers and replies, and it never poses as a real member.

Report and block

One-step reporting, and you hear back

Every profile has a Report button, one tap away from any conversation. Staff review each report, and your notification bell usually lets you know once yours has been reviewed. Blocking takes effect at once.

Anti-scam

Scam warnings inside the chat

When someone in a chat brings up a money transfer, crypto or ID documents, a safety tip and a Report link appear right under that message; a new match who wants to move the chat elsewhere gets a gentle tip too. And before you send transfer or ID details yourself, we ask once.

Urgent reports

Urgent reports go first

Reports of a possible minor, a scam or harassment go to the front of the review queue and alert the team. When you report someone you can block them in the same step.

Our approach

Modern dating is moving away from blind swiping

You should be able to tell whether someone is verified, what they are looking for, and how ready they are to meet — before you spend weeks finding out. That information is shown up front here, not buried.

Against swipe fatigue

Short queues beat endless feeds

Discovery tells you why each person is shown — shared intent, trust level, recent activity or conversation fit — so you are deciding on more than another anonymous stack of photos.

Against fake profiles

Layered trust, not just photo review

Photo review alone is not enough. The stronger path is layered trust: liveness, a linked WeChat, profile completeness, and lower exposure for stale or low-trust profiles.

Against AI confusion

AI coaches, it never impersonates

AI helps you write better openings and ranks compatible profiles, and it is labelled as AI everywhere it appears — it never poses as a member.

Before meeting offline

Use the date safety plan

Write down where, when and who knows. When your check-in time comes, we remind you to tap I'm safe.

What to lock in

Save the essentials

Exact venue and address, not just a neighborhood.
Meeting time and a check-in deadline.
Trusted contact name and how you will reach them.
Your own transportation plan home.
Why it matters

Safer logistics reduce avoidable risk

It turns “we'll see” into a concrete plan before you go.
It gives you a copy-ready summary to send to someone you trust.
At check-in time the reminder comes to you, so you don't have to remember.
Data handling

What happens to your information

Messages
A recalled message disappears for both of you, and a recalled photo is deleted. Deleting your account deletes your messages.
Safety plans
Only you can see your plan. You decide whether to send its summary to someone you trust.
Reports
The member you report is never told who reported them.
Dormant profiles
Members who haven't been active for a while are shown lower in recommendations.
