The rules for using CanDate
Last updated: 25 September 2026. By creating an account you accept these terms.
1. Who can use CanDate
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. One account per person. You may not use CanDate if you have been convicted of a violent or sexual offence, or if we have previously removed your account.
2. Your content
You keep ownership of your photos and text. You give us permission to display them on CanDate for the purpose of running the service. You confirm that you have the right to post what you upload, and that photos are of you.
3. Conduct
- No harassment, hate speech, threats, or unwanted sexual content.
- No impersonation, fake photos, or false claims about your age or marital status.
- No soliciting money, investments, or crypto. This is the most common scam pattern on dating sites — report it.
- No commercial promotion, recruiting, or bulk messaging.
- No scraping, automated access, or reselling member data.
We may remove content or accounts that break these rules, usually without notice where safety is involved.
4. Memberships, billing and refunds
Paid plans are billed through Stripe in Canadian dollars. A membership gives access to features, not to any outcome — we do not promise matches, dates, or relationships.
Cooling-off period: you may cancel a new paid plan within 7 days of purchase for a full refund, provided you have not used a paid-only feature. After that, you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period; we do not refund the remaining time. If we terminate your account for breaking these rules, no refund is due. To request a refund, email [email protected].
5. Safety is shared
Verification reduces risk but does not eliminate it. We do not run criminal background checks. You are responsible for your own decisions about who to meet and where. Read our safety guidance before meeting anyone offline.
6. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other members at risk.
7. Liability
CanDate is provided as-is. To the extent Canadian law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
9. AI features
The AI companion (AI 恋人), reply suggestions and the first-message coach are software, not people. They can be wrong, and nothing they say is professional, medical, legal or financial advice. Photos from the AI companion are AI-generated and labelled as such, and its voice replies are synthesized speech; neither shows or records a real person. If you are in crisis, contact a crisis line or emergency services, not the AI. Free accounts have a daily AI message limit; AI Pro removes it. How your content is processed is explained in the Privacy Policy.
10. Sample profiles
Some profiles are marked “示例资料 · Sample”. They are examples that show how a profile reads, not members: they will not reply, like you or meet anyone.
